Katie and Chris have one of those sweet proposal stories that you hear and immediately say “awwwwwww!!!!” In short, Chris managed to convince Katie he wasn’t going to propose on her birthday, but then surprised her with an early birthday present that included a beautifully decorated back porch and a pie box. Katie assumed it was all for a special birthday dessert date, but -spoiler alert – there was no pie. And in case you’re like “huh?,” there was something much better than pie in that box. And if you’re still confused about what could be better than pie? It was a ring!! A beautiful ring! Meaning there was no need for Katie to complain about the lack of pie.
So, in honor of the story of how their wedding plans began, we incorporated real pie from The Pie Chest into their engagement session. And it was fabulous. As was their adorable, happy selves. There’s nothing better than two people in love who are willing to just have fun and let me act like paparazzi around them during a shoot. Which means after this session I went home with a big smile on my face and, you guessed it, a slice of pie. An all around perfect day.
