Charleston

There’s nothing better than spending time in a place that feels like home away from home. After twelve summer vacations and a few spring breaks in and around Charleston, it’s become that place for me. Not only is it a city that holds a lot of memories, it’s the place where the whole idea of having my own photography business was born. My husband, the dreamer in our relationship and the person who has more faith in me than I often do myself, suggested it as we walked around the town with my little camera three years ago….and I’m pretty sure I rolled my eyes and said “yeah right.” I knew I had a passion for it, but had never entertained the idea of others wanting me to take pictures for them. But that suggestion planted a seed that maybe I could, and it was really awesome to be back last week, realizing, with gratitude, just where three years had taken me.

So here’s my version of Charleston in pictures. This would be the theme of these images: it’s a town that makes me feel really short. And, no matter how many times I visit, I will always look like a tourist as I crane my neck to gawk at the gorgeousness of it all.
